Deck Cleaning
Deck cleaning has very much an all or nothing type approach. It is either a case of completely stripping it, sanding and reoiling or alternatively simply giving it a gentle wash together with a biocide. In particular, stained decking that has weathered can be a nightmare, as to bring it back to look as "good as new" means doing a complete strip, sand and reoil. There's no compromise.
Decking with a heavy biofilm of algae, etc can be lethal. Especially so if near water. Wood fibres are sensitive to pressure and therefore any cleaning has to take a low pressure approach combined with a softwash of biocide. In this way the wood fibres are undisturbed and the integrity of the decking is maintained. High pressure is not the way to go. There are definite techniques for a successful clean and certain chemicals that must never be used on decking (but often are!). Our approach to cleaning follows from this, we adjust jetwash water pressure and chemical dosing accordingly. Local conditions e.g. drainage, run off, plants etc are also major factors in taking the appropriate course of action. Take a look at the About Us page to see our professional and thorough approach. It ensures a great result every time.

Eco friendly cleaning agents are available. These are always to be recommended but are essential when working either right next to ponds, lakes etc with aquatic life but also where the run off will enter these waters.
